=== Interesting Notes ===
The adjusting cam on the 1965 XLH and Electraglide covered style shocks had to be factory changed to a smaller diameter to eliminate the step at the bottom end to prevent contact with the cam and the cover when the shock telescopes to the compressed position. ((HD Service Bulletin #494 dated September 15, 1964))


=== Shock Conversion Kit 54529-76 ===

  * Basically, a new stud kit (one for each side) was needed to retro-fit '67-'74 shocks to the new '78 Showa shock assembly including;
    * Upper and lower studs, washers and an outer bolt cover.
